Introduction to Anthroposophy

What is Anthroposophy? What can it mean for humanity and the world in our time? How can we understand what is happening around us—and within ourselves?

Anthroposophy, literally meaning ‘wisdom of the human being,’ offers a holistic view of the human being and the world, which we will explore together during this workshop. Existential questions about the role of humanity and the meaning of life will be touched upon. We will work both on a theoretical and practical level.

The anthroposophical path of schooling includes a variety of exercises that can help us stay grounded in uncertain times. Throughout the workshop, we will get to know several of these exercises through experience. Feel free to bring your own living questions!

Thinking in Systems

Ever feel like the world is a bit… complicated?

Climate change, social media drama, school pressure, inequality—sometimes it feels like everything’s connected, but no one’s really talking about how. This workshop is for curious minds who want to understand the bigger picture and feel more confident tackling problems that don’t have simple answers.

What’s it all about?

“Thinking in Systems” is a fun and interactive workshop where you’ll learn how to spot hidden patterns, ask better questions, and connect the dots in real-world challenges. You’ll use games, group discussions, creative activities, and real case studies (from climate to social media) to explore how change actually happens—and how you can be part of it.

What you’ll learn:

By the end of the week, you’ll be able to:

  • See the full picture: Not everything is black and white—learn to spot how things are connected.
  • Understand cause and effect: See how one small action can ripple through a whole system.
  • Find where to make a difference: Discover the “leverage points” where small changes = big results.
  • Challenge assumptions: Uncover the beliefs that shape how we act and think—often without realizing it.
  • Think long-term: Make choices today that are good for tomorrow too.
How we’ll do it:
  • Interactive games
  • Real-world examples (like how social media influences mental health or how climate solutions work)
  • Group challenges and creative problem-solving
  • Personal reflection and journaling
  • Mapping systems visually—like drawing a mind map, but deeper
Why this matters (for YOU):

Whether you’re planning your next steps after school, trying to understand the world, or just tired of surface-level solutions—systems thinking gives you tools to dig deeper. It helps you make smarter decisions, be a better team player, and actually understand the world around you.

You’ll leave this workshop with:

  •  A fresh way to see the world
  • Tools to deal with complexity
  • More confidence to ask big questions and lead change

This isn’t about having the right answers—it’s about learning to see the bigger picture.

Curious? Confused? Fired up about something? This is where it all comes together.

Learning Journey: “Taking Action in a Time of Disruption and Uncertainty”

“I invite you to join me on a three-day learning journey where we, through meaningful conversation and creative processes, will explore what we need to let go of and what is emerging in order to co-create a sustainable and resilient future. Drawing on methods from Theory U, Art of Hosting, Eduarta, and other practices, I will guide you in a deep exploration of the questions that matter most. By the end of our time together, we aim to have gained clearer insights and a stronger sense of how to move forward with purpose and resilience.”

Folk Dancing: Connecting countries and people

Dancing is more than just moving on music, it’s a form of communication. It connects us (sometimes literally) and accompanies us during various important moments in life.

In this workshop we’ll explore some of the folk dances that are played during a ‘bal folk’ in Flanders. Both in group and in couples we’ll learn various dances and will try to feel the music or melody. A bit of background on some of the dance will be provided and we’ll learn to lead and follow in dancing.

Wear comfy clothes and shoes that allow smooth movement.

People who know some dances they would like to teach (yes please!) can contact me at julie.vandamme@steinerschoolgent.be to plan when to teach and to make sure we can provide the correct music (or you provide live music!).

Creating Magic

Bringing change into your world

Description of the workshop:
Do you recognize these situations?

  • you bump into someone and it feels like you’ve been knowing each other for years
  • you walk in the street and all of a sudden you see people dancing all around
  • you dream about a marvelous project and a year later it’s rolling
  • you feel like in a dream sitting on a bench with some friends
  • you come to an international conference and feel a magic connection with one of the other participants
  • you love it when unexpected things happen
  • you become speechless watching a sunset

It’s this kind of moments that we often call “magical moments”. Most of the time we talk about them afterwards. How would you feel being able to create these moments? I believe these moments happen more than we know. I believe we can make these moments happen. If you want to experience the magic together, If you want to make magic happen at the conference, If you want to know the secret of magical moments, If you believe that you too can make magic happen, If you just feel magical…

Be welcome to the MAGIC workshop, curated by Koen Joly.
We go on a trip to MAGIC land by:

  • exploring situations you experienced this MAGICal moments
  • dreaming about MAGIC you would like to see in your world
